Job Description

The Project Manager must plan, organize, direct and control the realization of large-scale projects. By “large-scale projects”, it is understood: projects whose realization continues over a period exceeding 6 months, from the submission to the closing of the project. These projects mainly concern, but not limited to, the installation of automatic counting systems in the public transport industry as well as in the railway industry. The project manager must oversee the completion of projects, often multiple projects at a time, while keeping the work team motivated and busy, and clients informed and satisfied. This role calls for project management skills, good interpersonal skills, as well as technical knowledge in electronics and IT. Ideally, the project manager takes part in the preparation of the bid with the representative to ensure that the project is feasible and profitable for the company.

Your Responsabilities

  • Ensures that project deliverables are clearly defined (content, scope, resources, deadlines, costs, risks, etc.) before and after the project.
  • Ensures rigorous monitoring of performance indicators associated with the project.
  • Create and update project related documentation (project plan, tasks in jira).
  • Manage all project changes, contingencies and issues so that it is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitors the achievement of established objectives and deadlines.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to ensure the smooth running of internal activities.
  • Lead the efforts of various stakeholders by tracking priorities and daily activities.
  • Organize and lead meetings. Make the necessary arrangements for these meetings.
  • Supervise and collaborate in the preparation of various documentation and reports testifying to project activities, such as weekly reports, project monitoring, specifications and manuals delivered to the client.
  • Ensure that the execution of projects goes through prescribed stages and good product development practices.
  • Produce project progress reports, including indicators to the team and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the representatives in the preparation of large-scale tenders, as technical and operational advisor.
  • Ensures the feasibility of projects in the submission stage.
  • Ensures the profitability of projects in the submission stage.
  • Work with legal counsel to assess the impact of contractual clauses.
  • Analyze the risks associated with the project.
  • Prepare an overall project plan as well as all the ramifications of this plan that are relevant.
  • Assign tasks to the right resources according to their availability.
  • Ensures that management is informed of any unforeseen events or problems that would impact the project
  • Ensures regular contact with the client to discuss various aspects of the project, such as progress, contractual clauses, the logistics of implementation, the documentation to be provided, the visits to be orchestrated, etc.
  • Ensures common understanding of technical, functional and operational requirements among the project team.
  • Animates and participates in various project meetings on the internet and directly with the client.
  • Ensures that the customer is informed of the progress of his technical support requests and that these are resolved.
  • Manage contracts, know the stipulations, clauses and requirements of contracts with the client and communicate contractual obligations to the project team.
  • Participate in the improvement of processes (policies, procedures, etc.).
  • Perform any other task required in connection with his position.
  • Promote a development culture oriented towards collaboration while ensuring high product quality.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering (with experience in project management) or in Business Administration or any other related specialization with experience in technology or mechanics.
  • Experience in a technical field (hardware, software, mechanics, etc.)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in project management.
  • Bilingual, English and French - advanced level.
  • Available for occasional travel Proficiency in Microsoft Projects, Project Server and Excel software.
  • PMI certification (an asset).
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (an asset).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, rail and / or other standards related to public transport (an asset).
